Isola del Giglio

The pearl of the Tuscan Archipelago

The Isola del Giglio is one of the most "beautiful children in Tuscany", as they are called in the popular language. Giglio's mild climate, unspoilt nature and crystal-clear waters, offer unforgettable holidays all year round. Head for the sandy beaches and beautiful coves if you want to relax, go for the incredibly rich underwater world if you're into diving, or take one of the many hiking paths and explore the uncontaminated countryside of the Giglio island.

The Giglio isle has remained as it has ever been- charming and simple: the picturesque town of Giglio Porto, the only harbour of the island, is a colourful row of houses nestled along a cove between two piers, backed by a huge green hill row with the medieval Castello on the peak.

During the day Giglio Porto is the beating heart of the Island: ferries leave, fishing boats bring bathers to secluded coves and divers to diving spots, people go shopping in one of the small groceries and boutiques or just drink a cappuccino in one of the bars along the promenade. However, after the last ferry has left, the peaceful atmosphere returns. Dreamy restaurants, built on stakes over the water, offer fresh seafood specialities, and later on a tasty ice cream invites to stroll on the pier.
